In partnership with the Birmingham Housing Authority, is providing
after-school and summer sequential arts instruction for young people
in four public housing communities.

2. Los Angeles Music and Art School, Los Angeles, CA National Guild Member
In collaboration with the Estrada Courts Public Housing Development
is offering classes in Early Childhood Music and Dance, Visual Arts and Folklorico.

3. Artists Collective, Inc., Hartford, CT National Guild Member
In collaboration with the Hartt School Community Division/University of Hartford and the Hartford Housing Authority will develop a music instruction program for youth, including voice, theory and keyboard.

4. Dance Institute of Washington, Washington, DC
Teaching introductory dance/exercise classes for youth aged 8 to 18
from three public housing communities.


5. Merit School of Music, Chicago, IL National Guild Member
In partnership with the Duncan YMCA and the residents of the ABLA public housing community, is providing high-quality bi-weekly music instruction in percussion, guitar and choir.
In addition to community based programming, students are encouraged to further their music education with a full scholarship for theory, private lessons and ensemble classes at Merit's downtown location.

6. New Orleans Ballet Association, New Orleans, LA National Guild Member
Has created a "bridge" to free after-school dance instruction for youth residing in four New Orleans public housing communities.

7. Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses, Dorchester, MA National Guild Member
Their Art a la Carte program for teens is providing arts education classes on-site at Boston Housing Authority developments, connecting students with professional artists for arts instruction, portfolio development, career development, and gallery exhibition and museum work.

8. Center of Creative Arts, St. Louis, MO National Guild Member
In collaboration with COVAM Community Development Corporation, the St. Louis Housing Authority and Jefferson Elementary School, will provide after school and summer arts instruction to children living in housing developments adjacent to the Jefferson School. Classes include Vocal Music, West African Dance, Visual Arts and Computer Art.

9. Concord Community Music School, Concord, NH National Guild Member
In partnership with the Manchester Housing & Redevelopment Authority, is enhancing its successful Music in the Community Initiative, offering Music & Movement classes for preschoolers, a Children’s Chorus, and hand drumming classes weekly.

10. Poeh Arts Program/Pueblo of Pojoaque, Santa Fe, NM National Guild Member
In partnership with Pojoaque Pueblo Boys and Girls Club, teaching classes in pottery, stone sculpture, jewelry, drum making, beading, moccasin making, weaving and embroidery.

11. Nevada Ballet Theatre, Las Vegas, NV
In partnership with the Las Vegas Housing Authority and the Cultural & Community Affairs Division of the City of Las Vegas, is providing Ballet classes, including live performances, recitals and field trips.

12. The Children’s Art Carnival, New York, NY National Guild Member
In partnership with the New York City Housing Authority, is offering weekly sequential arts instruction to youth, ages 8 to 18, at the Manhattanville Community Center. Activities include multi-media art, drama and movement, painting and drawing and illustration and bookmaking workshops.

13. Cleveland Public Theatre, Cleveland, OH
In collaboration with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, is expanding its Brick City Theatre in two public housing communities. Students are participating in dance, acting, voice, puppetry, poetry, costume and set design instruction.

14. City Arts Center, Oklahoma City, OK National Guild Member
In partnership with the Oklahoma City Housing Authority, is enhancing
its existing introductory arts programs currently provided at public housing centers and offering intermediate arts after school classes, including Creative Drama, Photography, Ceramics and Weaving.

15. The Village of Arts and Humanities, Philadelphia, PA
In partnership with the Philadelphia Public Housing Authority, Fairhill Tenant Council and PA Council on the Arts, is offering classes in painting, drawing, writing, dance and media arts.

16. Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Providence, RI National Guild Member
Music Education & Appreciation Program presented in collaboration
with The Music School of R.I. Philharmonic and the Pawtucket Housing Authority.

17. Creative Spark, Mt. Pleasant, SC National Guild Member
In collaboration with the City of Charleston’s Office of Cultural Affairs
and the Housing Authority for the City of Charleston, is offering multi-disciplinary arts education, including dance, sculpture, creative writing
and painting.

18. Memphis Black Arts Alliance, Memphis, TN National Guild Member
In partnership with the Memphis Housing Authority, offering youths at Lamar Terrace and LeMoyne Gardens multi-disciplinary arts classes and case management services.

19. Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts, Houston, TX
National Guild Member

Teaching classes at Irvington Village Public Housing, including visual arts, contemporary dance and Capoeira, including field trips to museums and performances. All youth in the program have access to MECA’s support services.

20. Vermont Arts Exchange, North Bennington, VT
In partnership with Applegate Apartments and the Bennington Housing Authority, providing a comprehensive multi-disciplinary arts education program for youth who live in three public housing sites in Bennington County.
